2019 The Redman
Take a moment and listen to Dan Redman talk about this spectacular wine - our 2019 The Redman.
"Deep colour, retaining a good tinge of purple, the bouquet is spicy, earthy and savoury with the beginnings of bottle-age showing, and a hint of animal that doesn't bother it. Berry fruit is deep within. There is a lot of drying tannin and the wine is full-bodied and firm, with a long-lasting finish and masses of tannin. It's a concentrated wine that's been quite strongly extracted. This robust red needs time, and hearty food. (185 dozen made. 70% cabernet, 30% shiraz. The wine celebrates 100 years of Redman in Coonawarra, 1908-2008)."

"Made from what Redman describes as 'the best of the best [of its] cabernet and shiraz'. The blend is 70/30% cabernet sauvignon/shiraz; 12 months in French oak (35% new). It's assertively tannic but not to the point of imbalance. Indeed it's an intriguing wine, sinewy at heart but with fruit flavour that builds and builds as it breathes. Resin, redcurrant and mint flavours teem with cedar and polished leather. It's by no means a big wine, but its charms are significant."
